The trials for the Zia Charitable Trust and Zia Orphanage Trust graft cases are being held at the Dhaka's third special judge's court.

The former prime minister is scheduled to finish her statement in defence on Thursday in the Charitable Trust graft charges.

In another case, the court is expected to hear the defendants after concluding witnesses' depositions.

Khaleda, a three times prime minister, reached the court premises at Old Dhaka's Bakshibazar around 11:30am.

In 2008, the Anti Corruption Commission filed the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case against six including Khaleda and her son Tarique Rahman.

It alleged that the defendants had embezzled Tk 21 million from funds meant for the trust, which reportedly came from a foreign bank.

In 2011, the anti-corruption watchdog sued the BNP chief and three others for embezzlement of Tk 31.5 million of the Zia Charitable Trust.
