Ivy, elected mayor for a second term, brought sweets to his home at the city’s Khanpur area around 10am on Friday.
Sakhawat told Ivy he wanted to cooperate, urging her to take stern measures against drugs and terror.
“I will provide you with help if you ever need it. I hope you’ll take measures to remove the bad reputation of our city, so that people no longer fear Narayanganj,” he said.
Ivy said she was active against drugs and criminal gangs in the city. “Now I have his help too,” she told reporters present during their meeting.
