On Nov 20, Diyaz, an assistant secretary of the BCL's central body, was found dead at his home on the Chittagong University (CU) campus. The body was found hanging from the ceiling of his bedroom.

Diyaz, whose parents are CU staffers, also served as a vice-chairman of the BCL's university unit.

The autopsy report said it was a suicide, but his BCL loyalists claimed rivals murdered him and hung up the body to cover it up

The family rejected the autopsy report and on Nov 24, filed a case with a Chittagong court accusing 10 persons of the murder.

Police's Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which has been tasked to probe the matter, pleaded to the court for a fresh autopsy and on Tuesday their petition was granted.

The court ordered the fresh autopsy to be conducted by the Dhaka Medical College's the forensic department.

CID Assistant Superintendent Ohidur Rahman said the body has been exhumed on Saturday from the graveyard near the CU Central Mosque.

He said the body was being transported to Dhaka.
