On Monday, locals at a village in Ghorhaghat Upazila reported to police after spotting three bullet-ridden bodies.
Police recovered the bodies, found near a pond, around 10am. All of the bodies had bullet wounds on the head, said Ghorhaghat police OC Israfil Hossain.
The victims have been identified as Redwan Sabbir, 'Sohel' alias Sagar, 28, and 'Abdullah', 27, said police.
Natore police OC Mizanur Rahman said they were involved with the Natore unit of Juba League, the ruling party's youth affiliate.
"All of them were wanted on several criminal charges. Sabbir is accused in nine cases while Abdullah and Sagar are named in a few cases," said the police officer.
Dinajpur police said that unidentified men whisked away the trio in a car on Saturday from Natore's Tokeya Bazar.
"A missing persons report was filed on Sunday with local police over it. Four mobile phones were found on the bodies and three of them were password protected," Superintendent of Police Hamidul Alam said.
The Natore Juba League unit confirmed that the three were its activists.
The district unit's Acting General Secretary Ruhul Amin told reporters Sabbir was the convener of the organisation's municipality unit and ‘Sohel’ and ‘Abdullah’ were general members.
