Idols vandalised, temple ransacked in Netrokona

Unidentified miscreants have ransacked a Hindu temple and vandalised idols of deities inside the temple at a Netrokona village.

They carried out the attack at the Kali Temple at Bangla Union during the wee hours of Sunday, according to the local residents. 

Shadhon Chandra Sarker, general secretary of the temple management committee said the temple had housed four idols – Mohadeb, Rokkhakali, Yogini and Dakini.

A lady who went to the temple around 7:30am, found one idol broken on the ground, said Netrokona police OC Abu Taher adding the three others were found broken into pieces inside a crop field some 100 yards away from the temple.

Shadhon Chandra Sarker has filed a case against unidentified people over the incident.
