Arms manufacturing facility found in Cox's Bazar, RAB says

RAB’s coastal district camp chief, Major Mahmud Hasan Tarik, said a huge amount of arms, ammunition and equipment were seized from the facility at Chakaria Upazila.

Six persons were arrested in the drive that was conducted at the hide-out at Charandwip Dolkhaliparha area from Saturday night to late morning on Sunday.

The seized items include nine long guns, three rifles, eight LGs, 49 rounds of cartridge, two lead machines, a handheld drill, two hacksaws, two hacksaw blades, three trigger guards, a butt and three hammers.

Those arrested have been identified as Abdul Mannan, 35, his brother Aiyub Khan, 27, Mohin Mia, 24, Nurul Alam, 50, Jonuara Begum, 38, and Md Nurullah, 45.

Major Tarik said they had been selling arms to local terrorists, robbers, arms dealers and trespassing Rohingyas.

He said preparations were under way to file a case against them.
