A Chittagong court has sentenced a man to life in prison for murder.

According to the case statement, Shamsher Ali, son of Dewan Ali, was murdered in New Chaktai area under Baklia Police Station of the port city on Nov 3, 1997.
The four men had summoned Shomsher to come to the area for ‘buying a tape recorder’ and killed him there.
Dewan Ali lodged the murder case accusing the four and the chargesheet were submitted to the court on Aug 7, 1998.
On Thursday, the court of divisional special judge found Mohammad Yunus guilty of the murder.
The convict is absconding, Prosecutor Mezbah Uddin Chowdhury told bdnews24.com
The court acquitted three others as the charges against them were not proven, he said.
