Four dead, nine injured in three road crashes in Mymensingh

Four persons including a 2-year-old have died and nine others sustained injuries in three separate road accidents in Mymensingh on Tuesday.

All the accidents were reported between 9:45am and 10:30am.

Kotwali police OC Kamrul Islam said Shapla Begum, 22,  and her daughter Shuborna Akter Shanti, 2, died on spot when the pickup truck carrying them hit a truck that was parked beside Mymensingh Highway at Shikarikandi area.

Two other passengers of the pickup, including Shapla's husband Sumon Miya, were taken to the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital by the locals, he said. 

Meanwhile, a truck rammed into an autorickshaw on Bhoradoba-Fulbarhia Road in Mymensingh's Bhaluka Upazila killing one, said Bhaluka police OC Mamunur Rashid.

Two persons sustained injuries in the accident who are receiving treatment at a local health complex.

Around 10:30am, a head-on collision between a bus and truck left one dead and five injured in Mymensingh's Trishal Upazila on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway, said Trishal OC Moniruzzaman.
