The incident occurred around 11:30pm on Wednesday
Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal judge Shafiul Azam ordered trial for Mahfuzur Rashid Ferdous on Thursday.
Testimonies were scheduled to begin from Nov 15, prosecutor Ali Akbar told bdnews24.com.
Ferdous, an associate professor at the university’s Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) Department, was arrested from a Ramna flat on May 4 following complaints by several students.
Five female students have testified against Ferdous who, at that time, was also assistant proctor of the institute
On May 8, police said the teacher confessed in court about harassing students.
The university sacked him the next day amid protests by students.
