Siddiki is based in Turkey.

After the state protocol, the ambassador had a meeting with the President.

Citing the “historic brotherly” relations between Bangladesh and Azerbaijan, he stressed on the need for regular interactions and implementation of initiatives to further strengthen the bilateral relations, said a Bangladesh embassy statement issued in Ankara.

The Azerbaijan President suggested the Ambassador to organize the pending Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) in Dhaka.

He also endorsed the idea of a visit to Dhaka by the Economic Development Minister of Azerbaijan.

He hoped that this process would culminate into the highest level visit between the countries in the near future.
At the meeting, he also expressed his interest to visit Bangladesh at a mutually convenient time.
Both of them also discussed ways to boost cooperation in the areas of trade, agriculture, education, and defence.
