Dhaka Metropolitan Police's spokesperson Masudur Rahman told bdnews24.com that a man, identified as Rashidun Nabi, was picked up on Sunday night from the capital's Sayedabad area.

He, however, did not offer any additional information about the suspect’s identity.

Detective Branch and the counter-terrorism unit were involved in the arrest.

Twenty seven-year-old Jagannath University law student Nazim was the information and research secretary of the Bangabandhu Jatiya Juba Parishad’s Sylhet branch and a prominent activist in the Ganajagaran movement.

He often wrote critically on religious extremism and contemporary politics in the Facebook.

Nazim was attacked and killed on his way home in Dhaka’s Sutrapur on Apr 6.

He was another victim in the spate of militant attacks targeting writers, bloggers and online activists this year.
