Changes made to the top positions in Bangladesh Police

Major changes have been announced by the government reassigning top officials in different levels in Bangladesh Police.

A home ministry notification issued on Saturday said Police Headquarters DIG Md Atiqul Islam has been moved to Highway Police while incumbent Highway Police DIG Mollik Fakhrul Islam has been shifted to SB.

It is not immediately clear whether these are routine transfers or other departmental issues involved it.

According to home ministry directive, DMP Additional Commissioner Sheikh Maruf Hasan has been moved to the Barisal range.

Additional Commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police Md Moinul Hasan has been named the new DIG at the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI).

PBI Additional DIG Md Mahbub Alam has been made the new commandant of the Rangpur Police Training Centre while the existing officer manning that position, Sheikh Omar Farooq, has been sent to the Khulna PTC to fill the same position there.

Dhaka headquarters Additional DIG Md Jahirul Islam Bhuiyan has been made additional DIG of the CID.

CID Additional DIG Dr AFM Masum Rabbani has been sent to the Police Headquarters.

Khulna PTC Additional DIG Md Bakhtiar Alam has been transferred to the Sarda Police Academy in Rajshahi and Barisal Metropolitan Police Additional Commissioner Md Saidul Rahman has been shifted to Dhaka PBI.

Sarda Police Academy Additional DIG Md Fazlur Rahman has been made additional DIG of Tourist Police.
