"All public-facing operations and services will resume across the country," the press release said on Sunday.

It said, "After the temporary closure to carry out necessary renovation works, The British Council is now ready to welcome everyone back to their premises in Chittagong, Sylhet and Dhaka."

Registration for the Pearson Edexcel Examinations in January 2017 session has started from Sep 22 and ends on Oct 13 this year, the press release said.

"School candidates are requested to contact their school for a unique school candidate registration link."

The press release said that private candidates can apply through British Council website www.britishcouncil.org.bd.

"This is for all candidates in Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Dinajpur, Rajshahi and Khulna."

IELTS registration dates are open for October and November 2016. IELTS candidates can register online at ielts.britishcouncil.org.

The British Council’s English language classes for term 4 will start from 12 October, the press release said.

"Students can book a level test online and register for an English course at one of their Dhaka Teaching Centres in Dhaka University campus and Uttara – and in Agrabad in Chittagong.

"They will also be running all of their Business Training courses and workshops as usual."

The British Council is grateful to the Government of Bangladesh, all students, parents, and partners for standing beside them during their temporary closure, the press release said.

But when it closed down operations two months ago, the British Council had said the move was for reviewing its security procedures.

This was in the aftermath of the July 1 Gulshan terror strike.

The British Council had then said they would reopen offices and resume normal services once new security measures are in place.

On its website it had said, “Our offices are temporarily closed to review security procedures.”
