Bodies of 26 people were recovered by Friday afternoon while two are still missing.

Banariparha police's Sub Inspector Jasimuddin filed the case accusing owner Yusuf Haolader and driver Noyon Miaon Friday.

He told bdnews24.com that two were charged with negligence as they illegally operated an unauthorised vehicle.

Earlier, BIWTA Barisal port officer Mostafizur Rahman claimed that the vessel was originally a trawler and was turned into a launch by modifying the design.
