Three-month old Khadiza, her mother and elder sister were with her father Bahadur Dhali, who underwent surgery to remove a tumour from his brain at the hospital 16 days ago.

The doctors have decided to release Bahadur on Saturday.

“How shall I leave without my baby girl? I won’t leave the hospital without her,” Bahadur’s wife Nasima Begum told bdnews24.com on Friday.

Nasima said a woman wearing a burqa had developed relations with the family at the hospital.

She tricked Khadiza’s 10-year-old elder sister on Thursday to steal the baby.

Nasima has filed a case under the Human Trafficking Act at Shahbagh Police Station.

“More than one policeman has been tasked with recovering the baby. We are using information technology. We hope to find her soon,” OC Abu Bakr Siddique told bdnews24.com.

DMCH Assistant Director Abdul Gafur said the hospital authorities were also trying to find the baby.

A total of 187 Ansar members guard the hospital in rounds, according to Gafur.

The authorities have also installed 96 CCTV cameras.

A newborn was stolen from DMCH two years ago. RAB had recovered it within four days.
