Fire at Chittagong slum leaves mother, daughter dead
A fire in Chittagong has left a woman and her 3-year-old daughter burnt to death.

Fatema Begum, 27 and her daughter 'Marjan' died when a slum was engulfed in fire at Chittagong's Halishahar area, said the fire service.
The fire broke out in the wee hours of Sunday at the slum beside the rail tracks neat the Export Procession Zone, said Chittagong's Divisional Fire Service Service and Civil Defence Assistant Director Md Yahya.
"An electrical malfunction started the fire at the slum around 3:30am. The flames were put out around 8:30am," he told bdnews24.com.
The local fire station's Senior Officer Rezaul Karim said the bodies were recovered after the flames were doused.
