India, Bangladesh sign agreement for Friendship Building at Sardah Police Academy 

Bangladesh and India have signed financing agreement for the construction of ‘India-Bangladesh Friendship Building’ at the Bangladesh Police Academy in Sardah.

High Commissioner Harsh Vardhan Shringla, and Economic Relations Division Secretary Mohammad Mejbahuddin put pen to paper on Sunday.
 
The project will cost approximately Tk 108.6 million and the amount would be extended as grants-in-aid by the Indian government, the High Commission of India said.
 
The foundation stone for the building was jointly unveiled by prime ministers Sheikh Hasina and Narender Modi during Modi’s Dhaka visit on June 6 last year.
 
The building would accommodate laboratories, mock crime scenes and a mock crime station. 
 
The project will also include establishment of an IT centre, consisting of three computer labs, centrally manageable classrooms with visualisation technology, data centre, academy management information system, access control and security systems and internal optical fibre networking, at the police academy.
