Joydebpur Police Station Chakrabarty outpost Sub-Inspector (SI) Harun-Or-Rashid said the body was found in the early hours of Thursday from the city corporation’s Chhoto Gobindapur at Kashimpur.

He identified the deceased as Md Shahin 28, who owned a shop dealing in construction materials at a local market.

SI Harun told bdnews24.com that Shahin was returning home after closing his shop when he came under attack near Mother Textiles factory.

He took shelter inside a room in the market. "The attackers hacked Shahin to death with sharp weapons and fled.”

Police later recovered his body after being notified by local residents.

SI Harun said that about a fortnight ago Shahin had an altercation with one Najim Uddin of the neighbourhood.

The murder could have been a fall-out of that feud, police suspect.
