Five bodies found after boat sinks in Padma

Five bodies have been recovered after the sinking of a boat in the river Padma in Lalpur Upazila of Natore.

Fire Service called off the rescue operation on Wednesday afternoon because no-one else is missing.

The engine-run boat capsized in Bilmarhia on Tuesday morning with over 100 passengers on board.

Six passengers had gone missing after the incident. One was found alive.

Police initially put the number of the dead at two but later said one body was found on Tuesday.

Lalpur Upazila Parishad Chairman Harun-or-Rashid identified them as Jamal Uddin, 30, Arzed Ali, 43, Chander Ali, 54, Bhasan Ali, 28, and Belal Hossain, 45.
