Four sentenced to life imprisonment for 2011 killing of a farmer in Magura
A Magura court has sentenced four people to life imprisonment for murdering a farmer in the district five years ago.

Senior District and Sessions Judge Mahfuza Begum delivered the verdict on Wednesday noon in presence of three of the convicts, said Public Prosecutor (PP) Kamal Hossain.
They are ‘Mohon’, Surat Ali and ‘Hasem’. The fourth convict, ‘Parvez’, is still absconding. All of them are from Sreepur Upazila.
Quoting case details, PP Hossain said the convicted hacked farmer Abdur Rouf with sharp weapons on Jul 14, 2011, over a previous enmity. He died while being taken to Dhaka in critical condition.
Rouf’s son Ripon Molla started the murder case with Sreepur police against eight people two days later.
Police had accused the eight in their chargesheet.
