Mirpur police OC Shahjalal Alam produced them at the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday and sought seven days to grill them.

But judge Pranab Kumar Hui granted five days after hearing Alam’s plea, court police’s prosecution wing Senior Assistant Commissioner Mirash Uddin said.

The four JMB operatives are Manarat University’s pharmacy department students Aklima Rahman, ‘Mou’ and ‘Meghna’, and Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) intern doctor ‘Oishi’.

Oishi’s lawyer pleaded for her bail, but the court refused.

Rapid Action Battalion arrested Aklima in  Gazipur’s Signboard locality on Monday night.

The elite police unit said Aklima is the adviser to the militant outfit’s female wing.

Based on information she provided, Oishi was arrested the same night at Dhaka’s Maghbazar and Mou was picked up from Janata Housing at Mirpur-1.

Meghna was detained from the same area upon Mou’s information, said RAB.

RAB said the information of female JMB operatives surfaced after the arrest of the group’s ‘southern region chief’ Mahmudul Hasan in Gazipur’s Tongi on Jul 21.
