Police said that a former colleague stabbed the victim, Md Farhad, who was a waiter at the eatery, to death on Sunday morning.

The murder followed an argument between one ‘Masud’, who attacked the victim with a knife, said Panchlaish police’s Sub Inspector Hasan Ali.

“Farhad lost his mobile phone a few days ago. Masud recovered it and demanded Tk 500 for it.

“The two got into an argument in the morning, when Masud struck Farhad with a knife and fled,” he told bdnews24.com.

Farhad was rushed to the hospital’s emergency wing where the doctors declared him.

Police officer Ali said that Masud’s uncle was in-charge of operating the cafeteria for CMCH employees and that Masud had worked for a few months there.
