Three Hizb ut-Tahrir activists arrested in Chittagong

Police in Chittagong have detained three activists of Hizb ut-Tahrir while they were distributing leaflets of the banned outfit.

The arrests were made on Tuesday night, Additional Deputy Commissioner AAM Humayun Kabir told the media on Wednesday.

The three have been identified as Md Ismail, 26, Amiruzzaman Parvez, 37 and Md Nazmul Huda, 25.

Huda studies at the BGC Trust University while Ismail recently completed his MBA from the International Islamic University and Parvez was a student of the City College.

“They were speaking with people at the Stadium Market area and quietly giving them leaflets,” said police officer Kabir.

On Sunday, police arrested four members of the banned Islamist organisation in the port city.
