The bench of Justice Quamrul Islam Sidduque and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil issued the rule recently after hearing a writ petition.

A court sentenced Iqbal’s wife Momtaz Begum Dolly, daughter Nawrin Iqbal, and sons Moyeen Iqbal and Imran Iqbal to three years in prison during the military-controlled caretaker government’s 2007-’08 regime.

The Bangladesh Bank governor has been asked to explain the reason behind not removing Imran from Premier Bank.

The High Court on July 18 also asked the respondents to come up with their explanation within four weeks.

The 14 respondents include Iqbal’s wife and three children, the law secretary. home secretary and police chief.
