The youth visited Kotwali Police Station on Monday to inform the law enforcers that he had left home two years ago, Superintendent of Police Anisur Rahman said.

Munna said he, angry at his mother, had left home and begun working in a factory in Dhaka.

Munna figures on the list of five ‘militants’ on the poster published by police on Sunday.

The SP said police were investigating if Munna was linked to militants.

Munna said he came to know about the matter when he called his family on Saturday to speak about his marriage.

SP Anisur claimed his name and photo were included on the poster after his family had confirmed he was a militant.

Munna’s brother Ahad, however, alleged police had tampered with the general diary filed by the family.

“We wrote that my brother had left home on getting angry with our mother. But police wrote he had gone missing from his college,” he said.
