“We have found injury marks in the rectum and some other places. We are almost certain that air filled into the body through rectum caused the death,” said Dr AKM Shafiuzzaman.
The assistant professor of Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s (DMCH) forensic department said they had collected blood samples for further tests.
Ten-year-old Sagar Barman was declared dead on Sunday afternoon after he was brought in to the DMCH.
Police said the boy’s co-workers at the Jabeda Textile and Spinning Factory inserted a high-pressure nozzle into his rectum and pumped air into his abdomen .
The family started a case with the local police the same day, accusing four officials of the factory.
They are Administration Manager Nazmul Huda, Production Manager Harunur Rashid, Assistant Production Manager Rashedul Islam and Senior Production Executive Azhar Imam Sohel.
Police detained Huda on Sunday.
In August last year, a 12-year-old boy was killed in a similar manner at a motor workshop in Khulna by his employer.
Two people have been sentenced to death for the earlier murder.
