Twenty, including Shibir leaders, held in Dhaka with bombs, weapons, jihadi books: Police

Police say they have arrested 20 people from Dhaka after raiding a house where they found bombs, sharp weapons and jihadi literature.

Those arrested during the overnight raid at the capital’s Khilgaon include leaders of Islami Chhatra Shibir, Dhaka metro police spokesperson Masudur Rahman on Tuesday.
 
Shibir is the student affiliate of Jamaat-e-Islami.
 
He said that huge amount of jihadi books, seven crude bombs, four sharp weapons and a computer have been seized from the house.

Details will be provided in a media briefing later, added the police deputy commissioner.
 
Shibir’s Khilgaon unit President Md Motahar Hossain, 27, and General Secretary Abdur Razzak, 24, are among those arrested, said local police's Sub Inspector Zahidur Rahman.
