Locals chase away suspicious youths in Dhaka’s Nakhalparha

Following the government call for public resistance to militancy, locals in the capital Dhaka’s Nakhalparha has chased away some youths, whom police suspect as robbers.

The residents of the neighbourhood said the locals gathered and chased the youths, five to six in number, away after they suspiciously entered a flat in Boubazar on Monday evening.

Tejgaon Police Station OC Mazharul Islam said police suspect the youths had entered the flat to rob it.

“They ransacked the flat but its residents could not confirm if they took anything away.”

He also said a woman and her daughter were in the flat. Police found them unharmed.
