A bus has run over a rickshaw van and killed the driver and its passengers - five of a family - at Taraganj in Rangpur.

The six, including a child, died in the mishap at Digartal on Rangpur-Dinajpur Highway around 5:15pm on Friday, police said.
The victims of the family from Taraganj have been identified as Raushon Ara Begum, 50, her son Shahidul Islam, 40, daughter Shahnaz Parveen, 22, Shahidul's wife Dulali Begum, 30, and their son 'Mustakin', 4.
The van driver has been identified as Sekandar Ali, 35.
Quoting family sources, the OC said that the family had started for Kamarpukur to attend a relative’s wedding on Friday evening.
They met the tragic fate instead when their rickshaw van collided with a passenger-laden bus on the Rangpur-Dinajpur Highway.
On the request of local leaders, their bodies were handed over to family members without autopsy on Friday night itself.
Raushon’s other son 'Asaduzzaman' received the bodies on behalf of the family, the officer said.
