Hossain spoke to bdnews24.com on Saturday, saying he felt threatened and helpless.
"I want to tell the truth. But I can't. If I could speak out, people and the government would understand my case better," he said.
Tonu's body was found on Mar 20, lying near her home inside the Comilla Cantonment.
The autopsy done the next day found no trace of rape and could not ascertain the cause of the death either.
"On June 22, a team of Comilla and Noakhali CID, led by special super Najmul Karim, met us and assured us of providing safety. He also said that CID ASI of the Cantonment outpost, Noor-e-Alam, would visit us for a GD entry," Hossain said.
But no such person had met them yet, he said.
Asked, ASI Alam said he had received no such instructions from the CID.
"I don't wish to speak against the government nor am I saying that the entire army is bad. I am only talking about those in the Comilla cantonment," he said, wondering why a section of the people and the army were against them.
"All I seek is justice for my daughter," said Hussain.
