2 workers die while cleaning tank of floating petrol pump in Narayanganj

Two workers have died while cleaning a storage tank of a floating petrol pump on the Shitalakkhya river at Siddhirganj in Narayanganj, police have said.

Siddhirganj OC Md Sharafatullah told bdnews24.com that the workers, Sabbir Hussain, 25, and Nayan Mia, 22, were taken ill after they descended into the tank for cleaning it on Friday evening.

After being rescued by fellow workers they were rushed first to a local medical facility and then to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where doctors attending on the duo pronounced them dead.
