Youth arrested for ‘raping’ woman in hotel
A 35-year-old man has been arrested on charges of raping a woman at a Chittagong hotel, police have said.

Pahartali police OC Ronojit Kumar Barua said that the arrested man, Jahangir Alom, beat up the manager and locked him up in a room before raping the woman on Friday.
Detailing about the incident, Barua said that the woman was about to about a bus around 6:30am when she was bothered by stomach discomfort.
She then went into Hotel Park Inn near CDA market to relieve herself. The manager, Enayat Ullah, is her cousin.
Enayat handed her keys to one of the rooms where she freshened up. Later, owing to the rain, she asked Enayat to hail a rickshaw for her to go home.
When Enayat went out to get the rickshaw, Jahangir entered the hotel.
He beat up Enayat and locked him up in a room before proceeding to rape the victim in her room.
The victim lodged a complaint, acting on which the police arrested Jahangir.
The police officer said that Jahangir has a 2012 record with the Double Mooring police station of harassing a woman.
