Madaripur Model Police Station OC Sukhdeb Roy said they began the drive on Wednesday night.

According to police, three assailants hacked Chakrabarty, a mathematics lecturer at Government Najimuddin College, on entering his home at Madaripur town on Wednesday afternoon.

He is currently being treated at Barisal’s Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital for head and hand injuries.

Doctors said he is now out of danger.

Several organisations of Hindus have staged human-chain demonstration in Faridpur town against the attack.

OC Roy said the drive would continue until the arrest of the two remaining assailants and the ‘mastermind’.
Chakrabarty’s neighbours and police said the attack took place about 5pm on Wednesday at his rented home near the college’s main gate, opposite to a student hostel.
Locals caught Faizullah while the assailants were fleeing.
The teacher was first rushed to Madaripur General Hospital and then shifted to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital on Wednesday night for better treatment.
