But her condition is not critical, Chief Whip ASM Feroz has said.

“She is okay now. The sickness was the result of some viral infection,” he told bdnews24.com on Sunday.

A Parliament source said the speaker suddenly fell ill on Saturday night. She was first taken to a private hospital, and later transferred to CMH that night.

The source said Chaudhury was suffering from high blood pressure. Medical tests on her later had revealed the infections.

President Md Abdul Hamid and Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha visited her at CMH on Sunday evening.

Army chief General Abu Belal Mohammad Shafiul Huq was also present at the time along with Feroz.

The chief whip said the speaker may also leave for Singapore for treatment in the next couple days.
