Awami League’s UP chairman aspirant held with ballot papers in Chittagong

Security forces in Chittagong have detained an Awami League chairman candidate with ballot papers.

aber Ahmed, chairman aspirant for Patia Upazila’s Charpatharghata Union, was detained on Saturday afternoon outside a polling centre.

Upazila administration chief Abul Hashem said that a Bangladesh Border Guard patrol team, deployed on election duty, detained Saber. Ballot papers were found inside the car, in which he was travelling, he added.

“He has been handed over to a magistrate, who will initiate legal proceedings according to the electoral rules,” he told bdnews24.com.
