Central bank heist: Bangladesh sending five-member team to Philippines again

Bangladesh is sending a team to the Philippines to join law enforcing agencies from several countries in meetings over the $81 million central bank cyber heist.

The team of two from police and three from Bangladesh Bank will go to the Philippines on May 28, Criminal Investigation Department Additional DIG Shah Alam told bdnews24.com on Thursday.
 
They will take part in meetings initiated by the Interpol from May 31 to June 2 over the heist, he said.
 
More than one police teams visited the Philippines and Sri Lanka in the first week of April to investigate the theft.
 
Members of security forces from Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Singapore, Egypt and seven other countries are expected to take part in the meet.
 
"We will discuss our findings and ways of cooperation and take each other’s opinions," said Alam, a member of the Bangladesh team.
 
He said the issue of coordination was raised during a visit by Interpol's IT forensic experts in the first week of May.
