The Trinamool Congress chief wished to take oath at the Indira Gandhi Sarani, formerly Red Road, though she was sworn in for her first term as the chief minister at Raj Bhawan in 2011.

Mamata invited Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to the ceremony after the results of the West Bengal legislative assembly (Vidhan Sabha) were announced on May 19.

However, Hasina went to Japan on Thursday on a four-day official trip to attend the G-7 Outreach Meeting.
Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali told a press conference on Wednesday that Amu, also the industries minister, would attend Banerjee’s oath-taking.
The ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) bagged 211 seats out of 294 in the Vidhan Sabha, while the Left-Congress Alliance got 77 and the BJP three.
