President, prime minister mourn death of BUET vice-chancellor
President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have expressed their grief at the death of BUET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Khaleda Ekram.

In a condolence message on Tuesday, President Hamid prayed for the salvation of her departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family.
Khaleda Ekram, the first female vice-chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), country’s top engineering institution, died in a Bangkok hospital in the early hours of Tuesday.
The 66-year old professor of the Architecture Department was suffering from non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a kind of cancer.
She was made BUET vice-chancellor on Sept 11, 2014.
