The deaths were reported from the district’s Sitakunda Upazila on Saturday.
The victims have been identified as 48-year-old Kajal Begum and her 10-year-old son Belal Hossain Babu.
Locals said that the deaths occurred around 4:30am when gusty winds uprooted a tree, which fell on the house.
“The mother and son died in their house that was reduced to rubble,” Sitakunda Upazila administration chief (UNO) Nazmul Hossain Bhuiyan told bdnews24.com.
The bodies were pulled out from the damaged house around 10am, said Sitakunda police OC Iftekhar Hossain.
