After the burial of Mir Sanowar Hossain, the Baul-loving homeopath, on Saturday, his brother filed a case against 2-3 unidentified assailants for the murder of his brother.

On Friday evening, police lodged a case against 3-4 unidentified people for the Kuburhat bomb blast that left a 15-year-old boy dead.

Kushtia Model Police Station OC Shahabuddin Chowdhury said SI Tareque had filed the case in the bomb blast incident.

No arrests have so far been made in connection of any of these cases.

The homeopath was a follower of the Baul ideology. His friend, Islamic University’s Bangla department teacher Md Saifuzzaman was also injured in the attack. He is also known to be a Baul aficionado, a colleague said.

Three unidentified assailants riding on a motorbike on Friday, hacked them, leaving Sanowar dead on the spot and Saifuzzaman injured. Saifuzzaman was later rushed to the Apollo Hospitals in Dhaka for treatment.

The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack, SITE intelligence Group said. The group inspects terrorist activities.

In a separate incident later in the day, a bomb tore through Kuburhat area, leaving 15-year-old ‘Naem’ dead and 15-year-old Hafizur Rahman injured.

Though locals said that the children had gone to play cricket and had dug up the bombs that were already buried there, police suspect that Naem was carrying the bomb.
