“This reflects the aspirations of the people of Assam for peace, progress and prosperity, as well as the tremendous support that your esteemed party enjoys in Assam,” Ali said in a message the foreign ministry released on Friday.
“It is our firm belief that under your leadership Assam would make greater strides towards all round development.”
Ali recalled the Bangladesh-India relations and said it was diversifying by the day under the leadership of prime ministers Sheikh Hasina and Narendra Modi.
The foreign minister said he believed that people of Assam would play “a vital role in transforming the vision for a prosperous and peaceful region into reality.”
“I wish to reassure you of the continued support of the government and people of Bangladesh in the endeavour,” he added.
