Two Bangladeshi policemen on UN mission killed in Mali storm

Two members of Bangladesh Police, on a UN peacekeeping mission in Mali, have died from injuries sustained during a storm in the West African Country.

A statement by police said that the storm on Sunday afternoon local time left another five injured.

The dead have been identified as constables Md Samidul Islam and Motathar Hossain.

Police headquarters’ PR official AKM Kamrul Ahsan said that Islam hailed from Mymensingh while Hossain from Munshiganj.

He said seven Bangladeshi policemen were hospitalised with injuries. The two later succumbed to their injuries.
