SSC, equivalent exams success rate stands at 88.29 percent
The results of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations have been published with a success rate of 88.29 percent.

As in earlier years, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid handed over copies of the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday morning.
The minister, while announcing the results, disclosed the highlights at a media briefing at his office around 1pm.
As many as 109,761 students scored GPA 5.
The success rate in the school-leaving exams last year was 87.04 percent and 111, 901 scored GPA 5.
Over 1.65 million students sat for this year's exams under eight general, one madrasa and one technical education boards.
The success rate under the general education boards is 88.70 percent, madrasa 88.22 percent while 83.11 percent students cleared the exams from the technical education board.
Their theoretical tests were held between Feb 1 and Mar 8, and practical exams from Mar 9 to Mar 14.
Last year the pass rate was 87.04 percent and 111,901 had got GPA-5. This year it rose by 1.25 percentage points but the number of candidates was down by 2,140.
Students from a total 28,160 schools sat for the exams, and 4,734 schools and madrasas among them have full pass rates. The number of such institutions was 5,095 last year.
Girls have taken the lead this year. Their pass rate was 88.39 percent as opposed to the boys’ 88.20 percent.
The students will be able to access the results through mobile phones also.
A student will have to type SSC or DAKHIL<space>first three letters of education board’s name<space>roll No.<space>2016 and SMS to 16222 to get the result in a reply SMS.
The results will also be available on the website, www.educationboardresults.gov.bd.
