Inter-board Coordination Subcommittee Chairman Md Mahbubur Rahman told bdnews24.com on Thursday that the HSC tests scheduled for Sunday under eight general and one technical boards would now be held on Monday.

Madrasa Education Board Chairman AKM Saif Ullah said Alim exams slated for Sunday under his board would be held on May 22.

The time of the exams would, however, remain unchanged, they said.

The Jamaat has called the 24-hour shutdown beginning at 6am on Sunday after the Appellate Division turned down party chief Motiur Rahman Nizami’s review plea against his death sentence for war crimes in 2971.

Jamaat acting chief on Thursday issued a media statement announcing the shutdown.

The HSC exams scheduled for Sunday under the general boards are Bangla Language and Literature (second paper), English Language and Literature (second paper), Physics (theoretical-second paper), Business Organisation and Management (second paper), and Business Policy and Practice (second paper).

The HSC Business Management tests slated for the day under the Technical Education Board are Business Math and Statistics (both new and old syllabuses).

The Alim tests scheduled for Sunday are Chemistry (theoretical-first paper), Economics (first paper), Civics and Governance (first paper), Higher English (first paper), Urdu (first paper) and Persian.

Over 1.2 million students are taking the HSC and equivalent exams this year.
