Sacked Gazipur City Mayor Mannan remanded for 3 days
Two Gazipur courts have remanded sacked Gazipur City Corporation Mayor MA Mannan in police custody for three days in cases concerning acts of sabotage.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Shahidul Islam granted a day’s remand in a case filed with the Joydebpur police and another Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Abdul Hye allowed a two-day remand in the other case lodged with the Kaliakair police.
Police said they had sought seven days in each case.
The cases were filed for arson attacks on vehicles on Apr 15 night, leading to BNP chairperson's Adviser Mannan’s arrest a day later.
He is currently being held in the Kashimpur jail.
The local government ministry sacked Mannan as Gazipur city mayor on Aug 19 last year after police had pressed charges against him in court for acts of sabotage.
The High Court, on Apr 11, had stayed the dismissal order for six months.
But the ministry dismissed him again on similar grounds.
The government also sacked Sylhet Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury and Rajshahi Mayor Mosaddeque Hossain Bulbul on other charges.
