The duo are currently in police custody for their involvement in separate cases of violence, Narhail Police Superintendent Sardar Rakibul Islam said.

The two were notorious as "The Executioners" for their ruthless violence during the war.

"Acting on the orders of Rajakar Sulaiman,  executioners Wahab and Omar would hack freedom fighters and common people and dump their corpses into the Chitra river", recalled Narhail freedom fighter Saifur Rahman.

Rahman has expressed satisfaction about the development.

Putting up the case on Tuesday before the tribunal, prosecutor Rejia Sultana Chaman expressed concerns that the two could secure their release and go into hiding, hindering the process of bringing them to justice for their involvement in the war crimes.
