The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Delwar Hossain on Wednesday allowed the interrogation after Kalabagan police pleaded for a seven-day remand, said a prosecution department officer of police.

The Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) teacher was detained early on Wednesday from an apartment in the city’s Ramna.

Police said AUST student Asadullah Al Sayem started a case against the teacher with Kalabagan police on Tuesday night.

Sub-inspector Shamim Ahmed told bdnews24.com that Ferdous owned an apartment at Kalabagan but used to live in Ramna.

On Apr 30, AUST authorities suspended the Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) Department teacher in the face of a student demonstration on the campus.

Ferdous was also serving as the assistant proctor at the university.
