He made the comment during a visit to the construction site for an underpass at Gazipur’s Nabinagar-Chandra road on Friday.

“Oil prices have been reduced, so transport fees will go down as well. A decision will be made after a meeting with transport leaders at the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority office on Monday.”

Octane and petrol prices have been reduced by Tk 10 and diesel by Tk 3. The new prices are in effect since Sunday midnight.

Consumer rights activists have been demanding that fees for travelling on public transports be adjusted with the new prices since the authorities had increased them when fuel prices were high.
