The baking heat is unlikely to ease in the next few days, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department says
Authorities temporarily suspended issuing all permits for entering the range on Thursday after there were incidents of four fire in a month, said forest official Md Jahir Uddin.
The restrictions will apply to fishermen, honey-collectors and others who depend on the forest’s resources for their livelihood.
Tulatal area of the range, in the forest’s east division, caught fire around 4pm Wednesday.
The Ministry of Environment and Forests has formed a committee to investigate the fire. It has been told to submit findings in 10 days.
