Schools and colleges were closed from Apr 21 to Apr 27 due to the scorching heat throughout the country
In separate statements on Wednesday, they also demanded justice for those killings.
The statement came on the heels of the murders of LGBT rights activist Xulhaz Mannan and his friend Mahbub Rabbi Tonoy, a cultural activist.
The Swiss embassy said the recent killings constitute “a serious threat” to the freedom of expression which is “deeply rooted” in Bangladesh’s long-traced tradition of tolerance, harmony and respect for human rights.
Those are also “grave violations” of basic human rights.
Both the embassies said the killings needed to be investigated and those responsible must be brought to justice.
